The Lenze EVS9328-EPV004 is a high-capacity servo position controller from the industry-trusted 9300 Series, designed for complex and energy-intensive motion control applications. With its integrated Safe Standstill (STO) function, this controller delivers both high power and advanced safety features, ideal for modern industrial environments demanding precision, flexibility, and security.
Engineered for 3-phase input voltages ranging from 320 to 528 V AC, or alternatively DC 460 to 740 V, the EVS9328-EPV004 offers exceptional adaptability in power-sensitive installations. It supports a motor output power of 22 kW at 400 V and up to 30 kW at 480 V, making it a powerful solution for controlling high-torque motors used in conveyors, extruders, large positioning systems, and coordinated multi-axis automation.
This controller provides output currents of 47 A at 400 V and 44.7 A at 480 V with 8 kHz switching frequency, and 30.6 A / 28.2 A at 16 kHz, delivering smooth and precise control across a wide operational frequency range. For peak demands, the system can handle up to 70.5 A (8 kHz) or 45.9 A (16 kHz), ensuring reliable performance even under demanding dynamic loads.
With apparent power outputs of 32.6 kVA at 400 V and 37.0 kVA at 480 V, this servo controller is tailored for applications that require both continuous and short-term bursts of high power output. The power loss during typical operation is around 640 W, making thermal management a consideration in compact control cabinets—though it remains highly efficient for its performance class.
The Safe Standstill function provides a safety-centric stop mode, which allows the motor to remain securely halted without complete power removal—meeting stringent safety requirements while enabling faster restarts and minimizing process disruptions.
Built for long-term durability, the EVS9328-EPV004 is enclosed in a panel-mountable IP20 housing, suitable for clean control cabinet installations. With a weight of 12.5 kg, the unit strikes a balance between robust build and manageable installation.
Thermal derating applies above 40°C ambient temperature at a rate of 2% per °C, and care should be taken when operating in warmer environments (not UL-approved above 40°C). This ensures stable performance up to 55°C when appropriate derating is applied.
As with all Lenze 9300-series controllers, the EVS9328-EPV004 supports modular system integration, flexible interface expansion, and is fully compatible with various motion control platforms.
