that provides eight single-ended analog input channels, capable of receiving both voltage and current signals, including 0–20 mA, 4–20 mA, ±10V DC, and 0–10V DC. It is designed for use with a Flex I/O communication adapter and is compatible with various terminal bases, such as the 1794-TB2, -TB3, -TB3S, -TB3T, and -TB3TS. The module requires a nominal external DC power supply of 24V DC, with an operating range of 10.0 to 31.2V DC, including up to 5% AC ripple. It consumes 60 mA from both the external DC supply and the FlexBus.
For signal accuracy, the 1794-IE8 offers a resolution of 5.13 µA per count for voltage and current measurements. The input voltage terminals support a range of ±10V, while the input current terminals accommodate 4–20 mA signals. The module operates with a conversion rate of 256 ms and can withstand continuous isolation voltage of 50V. It features DIN rail mounting and the wire size used is determined by the terminal base selected.
In terms of durability, the module is rated for vibration resistance up to 5g within a 10–500 Hz frequency range, making it robust for industrial environments. Its operating temperature range is 0 to 55°C (32 to 131°F). The module’s power dissipation is 3.0 W at 31.2V DC, and its thermal dissipation is 10.2 BTU/hr under the same conditions. As part of the Flex I/O series, this module is a compact and efficient solution for analog signal acquisition, ideal for high-density applications in automation systems.
