The ABB ACS550-01-015A-4 is a robust and versatile AC drive from the ACS550 series, engineered for a wide range of industrial applications. It operates with a 3-phase input voltage of 380–480 V AC at 50/60 Hz, offering flexible usage across global power standards. This drive provides an output power of 7.5 kW (10 HP) for normal-duty applications and 5.5 kW (7.5 HP) for heavy-duty use, with corresponding output currents of 15.4 A (normal) and 11.9 A (heavy-duty).
The drive supports both V/f (Volts per Hertz) and Sensorless Vector Control, ensuring optimal motor control performance. It delivers a wide frequency range from 0 to 500 Hz, making it suitable for both constant and variable torque applications. Its overload capacity allows 150% of rated current for 60 seconds (heavy-duty) and 110% for 60 seconds (normal use) every 10 minutes, enhancing its performance under demanding loads.
Designed with an IP21 (NEMA 1) enclosure rating, this drive is suitable for indoor panel-mounted applications. It comes in frame size R2, with compact dimensions of approximately 125 mm x 469 mm x 222 mm and a weight of around 9 kg, facilitating easy installation and integration.
The ACS550 also features integrated components such as a C2 EMC filter, braking chopper, and an intuitive operator control panel (keypad) for on-site configuration and monitoring. For communication, it includes a built-in RS-485 (Modbus RTU) port.
In terms of I/O, it offers 6 digital inputs, 2 analog inputs (0–10 VDC / 4–20 mA), 2 analog outputs (4–20 mA), and 3 relay outputs, providing flexibility for interfacing with external control systems. Additionally, it is fan cooled to maintain efficient thermal management during operation.
